“We are once again placing life at the centre, not production and the economy.”Frida Rocha

In early 2025, we launched the second call for the Climate Fellowship. From 188 applications, 14 projects were selected and are now being implemented across Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama.

During the first three months, participants received tailored training and mentoring to transform their initial ideas into robust, fundable proposals ready to be implemented in their territories.

In May 2025, we held our first Learning Circle in Isla Arena, Campeche, Mexico — an in-person gathering bringing together women from both cohorts of the Amos Climate Fellowship. It created a meaningful space for exchange, enabling participants to share experiences, knowledge, and insights grounded in their own realities. Together, they prioritised four areas:

  1. Healing as part of the justice process
  2. Joy as a form of resistance
  3. Addressing the loneliness of activism
  4. Authentic and meaningful connections

Since July 2025, the second-cohort participants have been implementing their projects — a process that has brought rich learning, significant challenges and new ways of working towards justice within their communities.

“This process is incredibly meaningful because of the diversity of women involved. Learning from their experiences, struggles, and actions across different territories has been a true source of inspiration. It has also been a space for mutual support and for building a genuine network of activists.”Thania Marreros
