The London launch of the Brazil 2014 Street Child World Cup continues in the UK this week.

The launch is being marked in the UK with a visit from the Brazil team who competed in the 2010 tournament. The team have taken part in a wide range of activities from walking out onto the pitch at the start of a premiere league match to meeting MPs in the Houses of Parliament. This week, as well as taking part in sports and arts activities, the team will meet the Bishop of London, Richard Chartres and be guests at a reception at the Brazilian Embassy.

Read an update on the team's activities on the Street Child World Cup website here.

You can read an article about the team's visit on the Guardian website.  It includes a moving comparison between the life of one of the Street Child World Cup team members and that of Brazilian footballing legend, Neymar. The two players were born in the same city with the same hopes and dreams but endured startlingly different childhoods.

Check out the article in the online edition of the Guardian here and find out more about the launch of Brazil 2014 here and on the Street Child World Cup website.
