Tom and Mandi Hewitt have now settled back in Durban, after several years of commuting between Durban and San Francisco. Together with S'fiso Mdadane they are developing the ideas for the Umthombo Research and Action project. It's been a busy few months in South Africa: the Street Team in Durban has a new vehicle, and are dealing with many new arrivals; we have two changes of personnel to report; there were plenty of South African visitors at Greenbelt in August; and a group of Amos ©ollective members enjoyed a memorable visit to the work in Durban, as well as to other aspects of the new South Africa.  read more…

The Durban Street Educators Team had a really positive start to 2003, being able in January to reunite 55 children with their families through the 'Back to School Programme'. What's more, they have a new member, which is allowing them to make contact with more children on the streets.  read more…
