Tom Hewitt to speak at Amos Day 2009

The speaker for Amos Day 2009 on Saturday 26th September will be Tom Hewitt, founder of Amos partner, Umthombo Street Children in Durban. Tom will be speaking on how Umthmobo are trying to create a safe space for Durban's street children and how the former street children have inspired the inaugural Street Child Wold Cup in March 2010.

The afternoon session at Amos Day will include updates from our other projects around the world, as well as a time of reflection.

Please note lunch from palestinian caterers Maramia can be provided at a cost of £6.00 per person, however lunch bookings must be made in advance with the Amos office.

The day starts at 10.15am and ends at 3.45pm.

10.15am Coffee and welcome

10.40am Street children, God's image - meditation, prayers and songs from Garth Hewitt

11.20am Tom Hewitt - Creating Safe Space for Durban's street children

12.30am Jenny Dawkins - Street Child World Cup, winning rights.

1 - 1.45pm Palestinian lunch

2pm Garth Hewitt - Just Peace for Palestine

2.45pm Chris Rose - 2010, 25 years of proclaiming hope for the forgotten

3.15pm Poets of Nicaragua - a Solentiname reflection

3.45pm Close and depart
