S2, E9: Advent 2020 – where is hope?
Finding hope in Advent: Reflections on a difficult year
Thursday 26th November 2020
In a year when hope was in short supply, this Advent conversation reminded us that hope hadn’t been lost altogether.
2020 had been a year of pandemic, isolation and grief. As we approached Christmas, the question wasn’t whether hope still existed — but where to find it when the world felt overwhelming. Advent, the season of waiting and longing, offered space to reflect on what sustains us through darkness.
Dr Olubunmi Olayisade, a GP and public health specialist, shares her perspective on finding hope while working on the frontlines of the pandemic. Amos trustee Robert Cohen (pictured) reflects on hope as both spiritual practice and political necessity.
Together, they explore what hope means when times are hard, why it matters to hold onto it and where they’ve found light in this difficult year.
