This webinar was about literally rebuilding hope — the physical act of reconstructing homes demolished by Israeli authorities, and the emotional work of rebuilding lives after destruction.

Justin Butcher’s powerful account of visiting a demolished family home in Palestine captured both the violence of home demolitions and the extraordinary resilience of families who refuse to be broken. Actress Amaka Okafor read his moving testimony, bringing his words to life.

We were joined by Lara Mitri, Said Zarzar and Elias D’eis from Holy Land Trust in Bethlehem, who shared their work supporting families whose homes had been demolished. Holy Land Trust’s rebuilding programme doesn’t just reconstruct buildings — it restores dignity, offers solidarity and sends a message that these families are not alone.
