Amos Road Club Tour of Palestine

New dates: 21st – 29th March 2019
£750 per person

Solidarity begins on a bike. Freedom of movement is a right that Palestinians are denied. Following the success of our Giro d'Italia protest Palestina ride, we are planning our second road/gravel/hybrid bike tour of Palestine. So grab your bike for an incredible ride.

On this 8-day, 7-night trip, you will:

  • fly out from Heathrow to Tel Aviv on Thursday 21st March and back again on Friday 29th March
  • get a transfer up to Bethlehem with you and your bike, where you will stay for the first couple of days. You will also get your bike transferred back to Ben Guirion Airport on the 29th
  • have the option to join in the Palestine Marathon, 1/2 marathon or 10km on 22nd March, and even combine this with a ride to create a unique duathlon
  • follow the Separation Wall through Bethlehem before heading out for a 2-day ride (hopefully with local cyclists), to Hebron and around the South Hebron Hills
  • cycle around the Old City of Jerusalem and up the Mount of Olives before heading north to Ramallah
  • cycle around Jenin, Sebastia, Nablus, and Taybeh in the north of the West Bank before completing our ride by taking a world-class descent from Taybeh (outside the brewery), down into Jericho.

As well as taking part in some incredible rides you will:

  • meet Amos Trust’s friends and partners
  • stay in Jericho – the lowest city on earth
  • visit the Dead Sea
  • experience incredible Palestinian hospitality
  • sample the beer at the Taybeh Brewery
  • stay at the Alrowwad Cultural Centre in Aida Camp
  • visit Banksy's Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem
  • understand the impact of the illegal Israeli occupation upon Palestinian lives in a whole new way.

Important:
This trip is for more serious cyclists and those who realise it’s not just about the bike. All cyclists must be confident in riding 70–100km most days with frequent climbs (many over 12% gradient), possibly in hot weather. You will be joined by a support vehicle for all but the first day's ride which will carry water and snacks.

As part of the cost, you will receive a unique Amos Road Club cycling top. And finally...
please note that you will need to bring/organise your own bike!
