About this trip

For many of us, an Experience Palestine trip was our first visit to Palestine, which proved life-changing. This trip is a combination of:

  • meeting local Palestinians,
  • listening to inspirational peace activists,
  • seeing the facts on the ground,
  • visiting historic/holy sites,
  • experiencing amazing hospitality and having time out to stop and think.

The trip will include: **

  • visiting the historical sites in Jerusalem’s Old City and the Mount of Olives,

  • spending time in Bethlehem, seeing the Separation Wall first hand, visiting Banksy’s Walled Off Hotel, spending time in Manger Square, visiting the Church of the Nativity and meeting with Amos partners, Holy Land Trust, Wi’am and Alrowwad

  • visiting Hebron and the South Hebron Hills to understand more of the impact of Israel’s Occupation of the West Bank. We will visit our partners HIRN, the Tent of Nations, and one of the homes we have rebuilt,

  • visiting the Jordan Valley and driving north through the West Bank,

  • visiting Nazareth to see its beautiful churches, stay in historic guest houses, and hear about the pressures faced by Palestinian citizens of Israel and the importance of Liwan Culture Cafe’s Cultural Resistance,

  • visiting Galilee, where we will spend time on its shores, visiting the biblical sites and having time to think through our visit.

There will be time off in Bethlehem and Nazareth to relax and shop. There will also be time spent in people’s homes, hearing their stories with a chance to eat some wonderful (vegan-friendly) food and enjoy traditional Palestinian culture.

We will provide opportunities for those who wish to attend a Sunday service or Friday prayers. We will also have time for people to get together and discuss what they have been experiencing and ensure that there will be lots of laughter.

What you need to know

Please read the Essential Information document before booking this trip.

Our Palestine travel programme is a vital part of our Change The Record campaign, which promotes Palestinian rights.

The trip will include talking through some simple ways in which participants can respond to what they have experienced, and we will provide opportunities for people to explore this further once they return home.

We closely monitor the rules and advice on international travel and seek to keep all those travelling with us abreast of any significant changes. The safety and well-being of all those involved in our travel programme are paramount to us.

Offsetting Emissions

Amos Trust is very conscious of the environmental impact of flying. However, we believe that the importance of our travel programme in promoting Palestinian rights warrants these flights, and we seek to ensure that we make the best possible use of them.

We offset the carbon burnt on our trips through a tree-planting programme with our partners and offer all participants the chance to do the same.

For example, a return flight from London Heathrow to Ben Gurion Tel Aviv emits approximately 1.2 tonnes of CO2. We calculate the total Carbon Compensation cost for this is £30.
