"The road climbs and the heat builds. Nothing in my daily commute in flat old Cambridge has prepared me for thousand foot climbs and 41 degrees." Amos friend and cyclist Martin Clark writes about the first protest ride in Palestine.
"We act not because we are hopeful, but because it is the right thing to do. We act because we have been inspired by our Palestinian friends and because of all that we have learnt from them." Amos Director Chris Rose writes about the 70th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba — or 'catastrophe'.
Katie Hagley shares an update from CEPAD, our partner in Nicaragua, about the current political situation.
Run Without Fear
“I’ve never seen women overtake men before!” declared Mary as we sat and reflected on the race later that day. This run meant many other things for these girls too — it was the first time any of them had left Mwanza or flown on a plane, let alone completing the race and being awarded their medals! Amos Street Child lead worker Karin Joseph describes running the first Zanzibar Marathon with four new friends.
"Through this programme CEPAD partners with rural Nicaraguan villages for 5 years of training, which focuses on supporting the community in the areas that they identify as most important for their development." Fresh from an Amos visit to Nicaragua, Katie Hagley writes about how the community of Teustepe is flourishing.
