Join us for an evening of food, community and solidarity in one of Bristol’s most beautiful community gardens.
Now in its third year, A Taste of Palestine is a much-loved summer gathering that brings people together through shared food, shared stories and a shared commitment to hope. We’re thrilled that Sally Azzam — Palestinian chef and Amos team member — will once again be joining us to cook a delicious Palestinian summer feast, using seasonal ingredients in the lovely setting of Redcatch Community Garden.
The evening is a chance to gather, eat well, hear about our work in Palestine and explore ways to get involved in meaningful action and community solidarity.
All funds raised will support our West Bank partner Tent of Nations — the Nasser family farm, located south-west of Bethlehem. Tent of Nations is being steadily crowded out by new settlement outposts, facing crop destruction, restricted access to their own land and a relentless series of legal challenges and threats of annexation.
The family uses the farm to educate local children and welcome international visitors, who in turn become advocates and a protective presence on the ground. This year, we’re raising funds for an olive press so the family can continue to harvest their olives and produce olive oil — a practice at the heart of Palestinian culture and identity.
On the night we’ll be joined by Heather Masoud from Zaytoun and Miranda El-Khazen from Shorkk, who will each have stalls featuring ethically sourced products from Palestine and Lebanon. They’ll also join the conversation about the situation facing farmers in the West Bank and South Lebanon, where attacks on agricultural communities continue.
Come along and stand with Palestine.
