Ride 1: Sea-To-Sea (C2C)
3-day ride

• Saturday 25th – Monday 27th May
• Whitehaven to Tynemouth
• Cost: £150
• 137 miles | 3,500m climb over three days  

Ride 2: Sunrise-To-Sunset (S2S)
1-day challenge

• Tuesday 28th May
• Tynemouth to Whitehaven 
• Cost: £75
• Fundraising target £500 per person/team
• 137 miles | 3,500m climb

Amos Road Club’s first ride in 2008 was the C2C for Street Children. We have undertaken 15 rides since, and in 2024, we are revisiting the route and once again giving participants the chance to fundraise for our work.  

We aim to ensure that our rides are open to all. They are known for their friendliness, fun and support and provide a chance to meet like-minded people, enjoy beautiful scenery and hear more about Amos’ work and that of our partner projects.

Sea-To-Sea 3-day ride (C2C)
Saturday 25th – Monday 27th May 

This ride is from Whitehaven on the Irish Sea to Tynemouth on the North Sea — 137 miles with 3,500m of climbing that includes the Lake District and the Pennines. 

This is a lovely ride for cyclists of all abilities. Each day’s ride is between 40 and 50 miles, with some challenging climbs on the first two days. You need to be reasonably fit, have trained for it and ensure your bike is in good condition. Participants may choose to fundraise to undertake this challenge but it is not essential. 

Sunrise-To-Sunset 1-day challenge (S2S)
Tuesday 28th May

This is a fundraising challenge you can do either as an individual pursuit or a 3-person team pursuit.

You will leave Tynemouth sometime after sunrise (at 4:40am) on Tuesday 28th May and arrive in Whitehaven before sunset (at 21:30). There is plenty of time to cover 137 miles, including 3,500m of often steep climbs.

The individual pursuit is a hard challenge and is only for those who are fit, experienced distance cyclists. The team pursuit is an opportunity for anyone to participate, with each rider covering 40-50 miles over the course of the day.

You can choose the area of our work that you would like to fundraise for:

• Palestine Justice
  For the Gaza Sunbirds para-cycling team or our home rebuilding programme on the West Bank.

  For our work with girls on the streets of South Africa.
  
  
• Climate Justice
  For our community resilience-building programmes in Central America.
