Join us in a beautiful Cornish market garden for an afternoon celebrating Palestinian culture through food, community and conversation.

Nazareth-born chef Sally Azzam will be cooking a ‘winter warmer’ spread of delicious, plant-based Palestinian dishes — all made using seasonal vegetables grown at Community Roots. You’ll hear Sally talk about the inspiration behind the menu and learn more about Palestinian cuisine and daily life in Palestine today.

Thanks to Community Roots for generously offering their space free of charge. All proceeds will go to Amos Trust’s Appeal for Gaza and the West Bank — supporting those facing the devastating impact of occupation and war.

There will be space to sit both inside and out, with time to explore the market garden and meet the growers who make Community Roots what it is. Under-18s are welcome if accompanied by an adult and eat free of charge.

About Community Roots

Community Roots is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project based at Mount Pleasant Eco Park in Porthowan, Cornwall where an acre of bare land has been transformed into a thriving, no-dig market garden — producing low-impact, locally grown food while nurturing community and connection.

Alongside growing vegetables, Community Roots host events, workshops and volunteer days that bring people together and show what’s possible when we grow food and hope side by side.
