Rebuilding demolished homes in the West Bank is a powerful challenge to injustice and a profound act of solidarity. Please support our home rebuilding programme.
Amos Trust’s Home Rebuild Appeal
Rebuilding Home, Rebuilding Hope
Our local partners, Holy Land Trust and HIRN, have approached us with the story of a family with an urgent need to rebuild. Their home was demolished in 2014 by the Israeli authorities due to its proximity to a military watchtower. The tower is now abandoned but the family remain living as best they can in an old animal shelter. They do not have the means to rebuild their home but have a great determination to remain on their land, which has been in the family for generations.
Amos Trust has a special connection to this home
A group visited the site the day after the home was demolished in 2014 and the visit proved to be the catalyst and inspiration for our Just Walk to Jerusalem in 2017.
We have already been able to collaborate with our local partners to complete the basic shell of the building but we now need to raise a further £20,000 to make a major contribution to finishing the rebuild and enabling the family to live in the dignity and comfort they deserve. Further funds are being contributed from local sources.
Each block we carry, each bucket of cement we mix, are much more than just materials — they are made of stuff that really matters.
It is not just a house, a house is concrete. When you come, you help to rebuild the hope and the life of this family, this whole community.
