S1, E9: Run, Ride, Walk Palestine
Active-ism: Run, Ride, Walk Palestine
Thursday 18th June 2020
Three authors discuss what running, riding and walking through Palestine has meant for them, exploring how movement through the landscape reveals the realities of life under occupation.
Jenny Baker ran the Palestine Marathon, experiencing firsthand the checkpoints, restrictions and resilience that define daily life in the West Bank. Julian Sayarer cycled through Palestine as part of a longer journey, witnessing how borders and barriers shape not just the physical landscape but the lives of those who navigate them. Justin Butcher walked ancient pilgrimage routes, discovering how the act of walking connects past and present, faith and justice.
Each author reads extracts from their remarkable books, sharing moments of beauty, challenge and encounter that stayed with them long after their journeys ended.
