Watch again

For our last webinar in the current season, we discussed the increased pressure to silence those who advocate for Palestinian rights, whether inside Palestine, in the UK or across Europe.

The crackdown on Palestinian solidarity has intensified. Palestinian human rights organisations have been designated "terrorists" by Israel, allowing their offices to be raided and staff arrested. In Europe and the UK, advocates face false accusations of antisemitism, event cancellations, funding cuts and legal threats designed to chill speech and intimidate organizers.

We were joined by those seeking to ensure that this pressure will not be successful:

Wesam Ahmad from Al-Haq, an independent Palestinian human rights organization based in Ramallah, discussed the attacks on Palestinian civil society. Giovanni Fassina, Programme Director from The European Legal Support Centre, the first and only independent organisation defending the Palestine solidarity movement in Europe through legal means, explored how to fight back legally.

Kat Khoury from PalArt Collective, which promotes Palestinian artists and coordinates creative responses to situations of urgency, shared how art becomes resistance.

Our guests:
