A collection of creative writing and liturgy, ‘Words of Hope: Thoughts and reflections from Amos Trust’.
“...these writings reflect the laughter, joy, and friendship we experience and all those times when we see the very best sides of our human nature.”
A collection of creative writing and liturgy – ‘Words of Hope: Thoughts and reflections from Amos Trust’.
Over Amos’ 30 years we have produced numerous songs, books, films, poems, and prayers — those moments when we step back and try to convey the essence of our partners’ work and the situations they face.
The writing in this book has been inspired by them and is our response to their creativity. Through it, we seek to explore fresh ways of understanding and to grapple with the pain and despair of their situation and the enormity of the challenges we face as a small, creative human rights organisation.
Edited by Harvey Jessop and Chris Rose and designed by Nick Welsh, ‘Words of Hope’ features words from Amos Founder Garth Hewitt, Mahmoud Darwish, Michael Leunig, Taha Muhammad Ali, Archbishop Oscar Romero, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Canon Lucy Winkett and writer, and broadcaster Martin Wroe.
‘Words of Hope’ reflects the laughter, joy, and friendship we experience and all those times when we see the very best sides of our human nature. The book concludes with a set of liturgies — our Words of Hope — that we say together at 5.00pm each Tuesday at St Clement’s in London. Please consider yourself invited.
